About Cold Laser Therapy

Cold Laser Therapy is a colloquial term for Photobiomodulation (PBM Therapy) previously known as Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT).

It is  light therapy using safe cold lasers or LEDs to improve tissue repair, reduce pain and inflammation wherever the beam is applied.  Treatments will usually last about 10 minutes and should be taken two or more times a week. Depending on the condition, treatment times will last on average 15 minutes. Duration of treatment is based on the size of area, depth of penetration and condition being treated.

Because the level of light being delivered is so low, no heat is produced. While some patients report feeling a slight tingling sensation, most feel nothing at all during their treatment session. The tingling you may feel is due to increased blood flow in the area.
